General survey of the landscape. We observe the land’s characteristics, resources & problems. We also work with our client through interviews & questionnaires.

Basic Assessment Includes:

• a landscape survey and client assessment with a general assessment of how the client can move forward.

• For those purchasing land, services may include determining if a landscape is suitable for your vision

Evaluate Energy

Learning how to harmonious your vision with the landscape requires relationship building. How well everything fits together will determine how resilient and abundant the whole project will be. With your vision in mind, we gather hard data that will determine what is working for us and against us.

Evaluation is included with the Envision part of our process.

Here we gather detailed information not acquired in Site & Self Assessment.

Envision your World

We begin envisioning what your ideas would actually look like in the landscape. We determine what its going to take to get there and draw the maps needed to arrive. As designers we establish a solid foundation through good design.

Clients receive Draft & Master Designs that Include:

• Draft Designs are non-definitive, conceptual maps with methods & strategies to Realize your vision. It is a text & illustration based plan of action to direct the Realization of the Master Design

• Base & Overlay Maps of your landscape; see what your World, fully mature, may look like

• Themes for your World with a style all your own (i.e. Yogi Retreat Center, Humble Homestead, Wildlife Haven)

• Written methods & strategies for integrating the client’s goals into the landscape

• Step by step instructions with priorities, costing, timelines, and material & labor needs

• Earthworks such as swales, hugelkultur, ditches, mulch pits, privacy mounds, etc.

• Plant List & Plant Placement

• Planning for on & off-site resources

• Where to situate structures, roads, swales, dams, ponds, etc.

• Wildlife or animal considerations

• Workload patterns for: harvesting, maintenance, pruning, planting, seeding, mulching

• Identify income generating possibilities

• Nutrient cycling & soil building strategies 

• Irrigation designs, with various options

• Timetable and cost analysis with estimates or exact sums

• Guidance from our pool of advisors

Realize your Ideas

It all begins with an idea and ends with a realization of that idea. So we have a course & a map to achieve our vision, this step is where we start installing and implementing our Master Design into the Landscape.
